The content of Ayahuasca

Ayahuasca itself is not a plant or substance but is a concoction concept that combines 2 components consisting of MAOI sources such as those found in B. caapi and psychoactive DMT substances as in the genus Psychotria. This psychoactive DMT substance if taken orally is inactive because it will be metabolized by monoamine oxidase (MAO) in the liver. B. caapi functions as a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) or a temporary and reversible blocking of MAO. With MAO that has been blocked, the psychoactive DMT can reach the brain and give maximum effect.
